I dreamed a dream in times gone by
When hope was high
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die

Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted

So different from this hell I’m living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed.
When you are a child, you have higher hopes that “one day” when you’re “older” you’ll somehow be able to achieve all your dreams, just like that. Soon enough time catches up to you. You lose your innocence, along with your faith. You think back to your younger self and believe you were naive for having such blinded high hopes. We have to continue to dream and not lose faith. There will be roadblocks along the way, but it’ll be worth the fight in hindsight.
Don’t lose yourself in the thought of losing your dream. Give yourself the gift of dreaming again, you can reach your goals. Give yourself a chance to achieve what others may think is unachievable; you owe it to yourself to try. Know that you have the power of choice over your life. Your life may not be where you envisioned it’ll be today, but know that you have the power to realign your path. You were created for a greater purpose than you may realize, and until you find it, you should live everyday in search for that thing; it’ll come!
The easy thing to do is to lose faith and enjoy the misery ride of not knowing what life would have been if you had the courage to take a step faith. But if you do that, take the misery ride, years from now you’ll regret never trying.
Don’t dream your life away, make it happen.
